Upper Austrian Water Power Potential Analysis 2012/13 (Oö. Wasserkraftpotentialanalyse 2012/13)
Due to the increasing demand for electricity from renewable energies, the evaluation of the oö. Country energy strategy, increased efforts are being made to develop hydropower. The government agreement "Oberösterreich 2009 - 2015" confers on the term expansion of hydropower at "environmentally-friendly locations", as well as the implementation of efficiency measures for existing power stations. At the same time, the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) to maintain or restore the status of the Upper Austrian waters. About 80% of the Upper Austrian waters are currently not in good condition. The study "Oö. Hydropower Potential Analysis 2012/13, assessment and evaluation of Wasserkraftausbau- and revitalization potential (= potential increase) for environmentally compatible sites, "tried the two strategies' implementation of the National Water Management Plan" and "Upper Austrian.
