MONITORING

EVALUATION

Definition

Monitoring is considered as a continuous analysis of the participatory process aimed to give facilitators and stakeholders elements to improve the process’ management (for instance realized progresses, reached objectives, budget use, etc.)

Evaluation can be defined as an analysis of the efficiency, impacts, relevance and the durability of the participatory process’ results.
The evaluation must allow learning relevant lessons for the future processes.

When ? 

Continuous

At the end of the process, midterm, ex-ante, ex-post

Why ?  

Monitoring allows observing the progresses realized , improving the process, verifying if the objectives are reached
